During the stay of Andrea, we already had a lot planned. Once of these plans was to go to Dublin, Ireland. To the place where our love started nearly 2,5 years ago.

We left from Eindhoven, since this is a little bit closer than Schiphol. I booked a pretty cheap flight from Ryanair. I know I shouldn’t support that airline. But when you want to save some money and don’t mind comfort and service. It is okay. The flight only takes like 1,5 hours anyway.
When we landed in Dublin the weather was totally different. We landed in something that looked like a storm and it was raining heavily. We quickly could take the bus and because we both have lived in Dublin we both knew were we had to go. (For more stories about Ireland, click: here.

I booked a Break and Breakfast, quite close to the city center. Hotels are super expensive in Dublin for some reason, so a bed and breakfast for 150 euro a night was the cheapest I could find. (If you don’t mind a hostel and want to save more money, go for it).

After resting a tiny bit, we decided to head to the city center and check out Temple Bar. This is the famous street everyone in Ireland has been basically.

We went to a few pubs, enjoyed the amazing live music and had a few pints of Guinness. It felt really weird to be back in Dublin after 2 years. I lived here. I worked here. Andrea felt the same too. Kinda like you have a double live and nothing has changed. Our lives could still be like this, if you know what I mean.

The next day we Explored the city a little bit. During daylight the city looks very different. But nothing has changed at all during the last two years. Few new buildings but the same shops, same bus lines. Same Irish weather.

In the morning we planned to do a tour we always wanted to do back when we lived in Dublin. The Viking Tour. This is a tour in a bus that can also float down the river. The tour was very fun and the tourguide was basically an amazing actor making fun of Germans, Americans and Dutch people. We laughed a lot and also learned a little bit more about the time when Dublin was inhabited by the Vikings.

After the tour we had plenty of time to shop a bit and explore more of the city. We also went to Phoenix park and chilled there a little bit, because later we would go to another pub (Buskers in Temple Bar as well) and Enjoy more of Guinness while we still had the chance. The next morning our time was up and we had to take a plane back to Eindhoven in the morning.

Being back for a very short bit was simply amazing and weird at the same time. Dublin and Ireland is amazing and I will return here someday for sure!
